Mentoring Initiative is a community-based program whose mission is to provide individuals with one-to-one and potentially group support to help them develop a stronger sense of self-worth and encourage them to create a self-sufficient, successful life for themselves and their families.
This is done through carefully developed mentoring partnerships between trained volunteer mentors and individuals who are in need and are struggling to get by.
Through these partnerships, mentors have an opportunity to make a significant difference in another person's life.
The part-time Program Director position involves program development & administrative functions as follows:
PROGRAM:
Recruit and screen volunteers who will be trained as mentors.
Continuing development of training programs for mentors.
Continuing development of possible programming for mentees.
Train volunteers to be mentors.
Match volunteers with mentees from community.
Supervise and support mentors and the matches.
Identify clients through area social services agencies including Homes with Hope.
Screen clients who are interested in having a mentor.
Arrange introductory meetings with mentors and clients.
Follow up with mentees and mentors regularly.
Interact with HWH staff and outside agencies to locate appropriate services for clients.
Develop, evaluate, and maintain policies and procedures with HWH staff.
ADMINISTRATIVE:
Public relations/spokesperson to the community regarding Mentoring Initiative and HWH programs.
Networking with local community agencies, clergy, interfaith community.
Oversee all aspects of the Mentoring Initiative program.
Participate in weekly Professional Staff meetings and supervision by arrangement.
Collaborate with other HWH programs/staff.
Attend outside workshops for continuing education.
Evaluate program and keep appropriate statistics to produce an annual outcome report.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
