- Assist attorneys in managing and organizing case files - Prepare and draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and affidavits - Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases - Maintain document management systems and ensure accurate filing and indexing of documents - Schedule appointments, hearings, and meetings for attorneys - Answer phone calls and handle client inquiries with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette - Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness - Assist in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, witness lists, and other trial materials - Transcribe dictations and prepare correspondence - Perform general administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, and photocopying
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in family law is preferred - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously - Proficient in using document management systems and other legal software - Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment - Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures in family law cases - Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information SALARY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE AND MAY BE HIGHER OR LOWER THAN STATED RANGE Please note that this job description is not exhaustive, and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
